Capital Campaign Kickoff

The LPCTV Fundraising Committee met today and discussed the big project in front of us - the renovation of the Ludlow Armory "tank barn". We have launched a $300,000 capital campaign; the campaign is dynamic and will encompass a variety of efforts. We are targeting grants, both large and small, as well as a local fundraising effort, which will include events and a pledge drive.

For the past 6 months, LPCTV has been working with an architect, Claudio Veliz of Chester, in the design of a new state-of-the-art TV studio and media center. New features will include a conference / class room, a performance stage, and an area to host live studio audiences. The new & improved space will also enable us to host community events, workshops, classes, and more.

We are very excited about this project and the opportunity to expand our services. We will soon be able to provide community members with a facility they deserve to make media, learn new skills, participate, and engage.

We'll periodically update you here on how things are going, so check back soon. If you want more information or find out how you can become more involved with building our new facility, get in touch!

Re: Capital Campaign Kickoff

The Senate health reform bill places a 40% tax on all employer health benefit costs above a certain threshold. The battle is on, Richard Eskow vs. payday loans, and the winner is…yet to be determined. Richard Eskow not too long ago published a page within the Huffington Post creating many accusations against payday lenders; things like they target and exploit poor and minorities, and that their experiments are not impartial on the person who does the study. Wow, if that isn't really the pot calling the kettle black, I do not understand what is. Eskow is allied with World Bank, and any business they can keep in their corner, is much better on their behalf.
